Jim Coningford2024-01-21I haven't been to West Valley (Inn) in about 35 years when it was on Providence Street (I believe it was called the 400 Club then). I was a kid at the time and food was food then. Well, recently they had a free-soup day; so I returned. The first thing that impressed me was how efficient they are at serving and accommodating their customers. The second thing that impressed me was how polite they were. Doling out free soup to hoards of customers is daunting, but they treated each customer with a genuine smile. Lastly, the soup de jure was chicken. If you think you've had great chicken soup think again. They prepare a hearty soup with chunks of chicken and just enough broth to keep the fixings submerged. I can't wait to go back and sample the rest of their menu.
